Dentist Open Late in Coventry: Can You Book After Work?

A common reason that patients fail to keep on top of their dental checkups is that they simply can’t get the time off work to attend. The majority of dental appointments take place during working hours, which leaves those working the same hours with a difficult dilemma.

While some employers are reasonable when it comes to allowing employees to book dentist appointments, others will put the pressure on their employees to use holiday allowance for these requests.

The alternative would be to take unpaid leave if you don’t have any holiday allowance left. This leaves many employees in a difficult situation of having to choose between caring for their oral health and earning a living. Not everyone can afford to take time off work to visit the dentist, which can put your oral health at risk.

What can workers do to bridge this gap

What can workers do to bridge this gap?

If you are struggling to see the dentist because of your work commitments, you might need to look around for a new dentist that can accommodate your working hours.

Thankfully, we offer flexible appointment times that can fit around existing working commitments, so you don’t have to take unpaid leave or use your holiday allowance.

Longfellow Road Dental offers morning, evening and weekend appointments to help you to access care when it is most convenient for you. You can visit the practice from 8am Monday to Friday, allowing you to get in for your dentist appointment before you start work. We’re also open until 8pm Monday to Friday, which means after-work appointments can also be accommodated.

For even greater flexibility, we also have appointments available on Saturday, perfect for those who work long hours during the week. Weekend appointments are available from 8am to 4pm on Saturdays. These are also perfect for young children and teens who need to avoid missing school.

Caring for your teeth around other commitments

Caring for your teeth around other commitments

If you struggle to make it to the dentist because of other commitments, we’re here to help. We want to ensure that you can always prioritise your oral health, no matter how demanding your job or personal life can get.

Morning, evening and weekend appointments are also perfect for busy families who might struggle to make it during the work day. You can book the whole family for a checkup at once, so you don’t have to make multiple trips.

For patients undergoing long-term treatment such as orthodontics or dental implants, you will be reassured to know that you can access appointments at a time to suit you. Patients are often deterred from starting treatment that takes place over multiple stages because of concerns about appointment times. Thankfully, this concern doesn’t have to stand in your way of accessing the treatments you want.

Emergency out-of-hours appointments

Another advantage of our extended opening times is that we can offer emergency dental appointments at times to suit you. If you are facing a dental emergency outside of opening hours, simply call our practice to find out what to do next. You may be directed to another clinic for emergency care, or you may need to visit A&E to assess your emergency. In all other cases, patients can often wait for an emergency appointment time during our extended opening hours.

Registering as a patient

If you’re interested in registering as a patient, get in touch with our reception team. We are now accepting new NHS patients and private dental patients, so you’ll find complete flexibility.

Registering as a patient is the best way to secure your oral health, as you’ll be able to access dental appointments at times to suit your schedule, while also having access to emergency dental care when you need it.
