Out of Hours Emergency Dental Help in Coventry

Don't suffer in silence with dental pain. If you're experiencing a dental emergency.

If you require urgent dental care outside normal surgery hours, please contact NHS 111.

NHS 111 can assess your symptoms and, if appropriate, arrange an out-of-hours emergency dental appointment or provide advice on the next steps. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

When you're having a dental emergency, it can be difficult to know where to turn.

Dental emergencies can happen suddenly, and you need to know that you can access quality care as soon as possible so you can get back to your life. Our emergency dental service in Coventry will aim to get you into the dentist's chair on the same day. We will then diagnose the issue and take steps to stop your pain and prevent further damage. If the issue cannot be solved in one visit, you can then book a follow-up appointment to complete the work.

What counts as a dental emergency?

It can be difficult to know if you are having a dental emergency, or if your problem can wait. To help clear up any confusion, we've listed the most common dental emergencies below. In these cases, you should seek emergency care as soon as possible.

  • If you have lost a tooth, try to find the tooth and book an appointment as soon as possible, as we may be able to place the tooth back in the socket.

  • A chipped or broken tooth can leave you with a sharp edge that can cut your lips and tongue. Visit the emergency dentist to prevent further damage to your mouth.

  • An abscess will result in intense pain and swelling in your cheek, jaw and sometimes even your neck. It's a sign that a bacterial infection has spread to your tooth root.

  • If toothache strikes out of nowhere, or a mild toothache gets worse, this is considered a dental emergency. The pain is often caused by an infection, so it's important to seek treatment right away.

  • If you lose a crown, bridge or dental implant, it's important to visit a dentist as soon as possible.

  • Bleeding should stop after a dental procedure, so if you're still experiencing bleeding and it cannot be controlled by biting down on gauze, book an appointment as soon as possible.

Just excellent. I cannot praise this dental surgery enough. I thought I may have to have another implant but Mr Mathias put my crown back in. This has saved me a few thousand pounds. It may not work but he was willing to try this first. Fingers crossed it will work . THANK YOU.

When contacting the surgery for an appointment, I did not have to wait for long for an appropriate date for my consultation. On the day of the appointment, I arrived on time and did not have to wait long to be called in. The dentist and his assistant were pleasant and efficient. The only comment I would make is that instructions being given me during investigation and treatment were very quietly spoken which made it hard to hear, particularly when competing with the suction machine. Overall a very good service
